District #3 currently operates out of five fire stations. Each station is equipped with a pumper and a tanker. The primary and secondary stations are also equipped with a mini-pumper/rescue/grass truck vehicle. These are a lightweight rapid response vehicles equipped with either Hurst or Amkus rescue tools and AED‘s.
District #3 Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department has set the goal that fire apparatus should be within 5 minutes or 5 miles from any station. In effort to meet this objective, we have completed the construction of our fifth station in 1999.
The new station is located off of Highway 69 South near the southern end of our fire protection district. This station is located outside the flood plain and allows members to travel to the area and pick up the apparatus close to the scene. We welcome new member to join use from the area to help staff the new station.
The stations are not manned.
Baptist Memorial Hospital Ambulance service has staged a ambulance and crew in the main station located across from the high school and centrally located in our fire protection district
