Welcome to the Lowndes County Fire Service site. Lowndes County Fire Services hosts the five active Volunteer Fire Departments, the Columbus-Lowndes Emergency Management Agency, the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Fire Prevention Week and Life Safety education programs.
Please note: The Lowndesfire.com members and website does not send any SPAM. There is a SPAMMER out there using the @lowndesfire.com as his return address. He is trying to sell fake drugs, send viruses to unsuspecting individuals. He is not associated with lowndesfire.com or the Lowndes County Volunteer Fire Services. He is using different user names for each set of SPAM e-mails. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you. We thank you for your assistance. We are working with our hosting service in effort to resolve this issue.
Please forward any spam from @lowndesfire.com to the uce@ftc.gov address. We use http://www.spamcop.net to help fight spammers. It is a free service.
This site was initiated to help spread the fire prevention word to the kids. Each year during the month of October, District #3 runs the Fire Prevention Week program for the county schools that are in it's fire protection district. For the last seven years we have also brought the program to the public school in another departments fire protection area. During Fire Prevention Week 2001, District #3 Volunteer Fire Department donated the Risk Watch program to three schools and the Learn Not to Burn Series to one school. We are hoping to be able to reach all of the County schools in 2007! This site is the primary link to all the scheduled events, prizes, handouts, and the photos of the kids taken during the Fire Prevention Week programs. Lowndes County uses the NFPA's Risk Watch, Learn Not to Burn and the Fire Prevention Week Programs.
